Super Eagles’ mid-fielder, Ogenyi Onazi has joined the league of big boys in Italy as his Serie A side, SS Lazio splashes a whopping sum N4billion to extend the Nigerian stay at the club.
The Biancocelesti confirmed the 21-year-old has finally puts pen to papers yesterday after several months of negotiation with the player’s agent.
Reports have suggested that the international has penned a two-year extension.
“It’s important to know that your future at the club is sorted; I’ve always insisted that I love it here and I’m delighted to stay,” Onazi is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
“My focus and desire is to give my best in the club colours and continue to enjoy the love and warmth of our fans.”
Onazi signed his first professional deal with Lazio in 2012 following a spell in the club’s youth academy.
The midfielder has been in the senior squad since July 2012 and his current contract is set to expire in June 2016.
The extension will be until June 2018 with wages worth €0.7m (N2billion) per season, though there should also be a buy-out clause for €10m.
