Lagos Speaker submits report of Constituency meetings to Gov. Ambode

Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has submitted report of the constituency stakeholders’ meetings organised by the House to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for implementation.
The constituency stakeholders’ meetings, the second in the series, took place simultaneously in all the 40 constituencies.
The speaker made this known in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary Musbau Rasak, on Sunday in Lagos.
He said the reports contained the requests and recommendations of the people of the state spread across the 40 constituencies on how the state should continue to achieve development and growth.
During the Executive-Legislative Parley organised by the state government on October 14, the speaker urged the Governor to ensure quick implementation.
Obasa said: “We decided to feel the pulse of our people through the constituency stakeholders’ meeting and what I am presenting to you today is their aggregate demands.
“These are the recommendations collated by our field officers who worked in the 40 constituencies.”
Governor Ambode was quoted to have assured that the contents of the reports would form major components of the 2017 budget.
Ambode said: “These are the wishes of Lagos residents and these will help us greatly in preparing the 2017 budget.
“These reports will save time because they are the direct requests of the people so we have something to work on.’’
The governor commended the state Assembly for the initiative, saying that the initiative complements the efforts of the government to bring dividends of democracy to the people.
