The Lagos State Football Association board has extended the registration date for the forthcoming Oba Cup.
The decision was reached after the divisional football associations’ chairmen and secretaries meet in Lagos last week.
Speaking after their deliberation, the LSFA Chairman, Seyi Akinwunmi, informed that the extension was granted after the divisions appealed to get more teams involved in the championship.
Akinwunmi stated that the new deadline for submission of form has been put at August 8, while the draws is slated to take place same day at the divisions across the state.
Akinwunmi added that the kick-off date in all the divisions is fixed for August 15.
The championship is organised in honour of the paramount ruler of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Riwan Akinolu.
Over 80 clubs have so far registered for the football fiesta.
