Katsina Rep member-elect dies at 64

Sheikh Umar Abubakar, a House of Representatives member-elect for Katsina Federal Constituency, died early on Wednesday in his home in Katsina.

Abubakar, 64, was elected on March 28 in the National Assembly election for a second term, on the platform of All Progressives Congress.

The remains of the deceased were buried at Dantakum cemetery in accordance with Islamic rites.

The state Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, and the All Progressives Congress state Chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, have condoled with the family.

They prayed to Almighty God to grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family fortitude to bear the loss.

The deceased is survived by one wife, five children and three grandchildren.
