Eminent businessman and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has described former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji M.D. Yusufu, as a man of integrity whose demise is a big loss to the country.
Kalu noted that the police boss contributed to the social and political development of Nigeria having served in different capacities in the public sector.
In a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu said: “I was unhappy to hear that Alhaji MD Yusufu had passed on.
“It is unfortunate that Nigeria has lost an elder statesman who is cherished by all irrespective of tribal, political and ethnic divides.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the deceased’s family at this sorrowful period.
“May Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest.”
The former governor described the late police officer as an epitome of statesmanship whose lifestyle is worth emulating.
Kalu urged the Yusufu family to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a fulfilled life.
While praying to God to grant the departed soul a blissful rest, Kalu commiserated with the government and people of Katsina State.
