Much-talk about Arsenal of England starlet, Alex Iwobi, was conspicuously missing as Dream Team VI step out against their Gabonese counterparts in Libreville in the first leg of the All Africa Games qualifiers.
Uncertainty however still beclouds Iwobi’s eligibility to feature for Nigeria after playing for England in the age grade competitions.
The team handler, Samson Siasia, opted for goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel, while Sincere Seth, Oduduwa, Erhun Obanor, Stanley Amuzie and Azubuike will marshal the defence, while Usman, Tiongoli Tonbara and Savior Godwin were saddled with the midfield role.
The duo of Etebo Oghenekaro and Ajayi junior will hunt for goals in the attack.
Meanwhile, the team was addressed by Nigeria’s ambassador to Gabon, H. E. Bassey Archibong, who urged them to be disciplined and obey the instructions of the coaches.
Archibong told them to expect a hostile host, but they can overcome their hostility if they are disciplined
On hand to receive the ambassador was Barrister Chris Green, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, and Siasia.
