The Ikeja Electric on Monday assured the residents of Lagos State of improved poor power supply following more allocation from the national grid.
Pekun Adeyanju, the Assistant General Manager of Public Affairs of the company, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
Adeyanju said the present epileptic power supply being experienced by its consumers was due to the shortfall in the allocation to the firm from the national grid.
He said that pipeline vandalism had resulted to the shortfall, adding that the problem was being confronted and that power supply would improve soon.
He said: “Some consumers think that our installations are faulty, which has resulted to epileptic power supply.
“The outage is a general thing.
“The shortfall has affected all Distribution Companies in the country.
“The issue of load-shedding being experienced currently within our network is due to shortfall in power allocated to the company.”
Adeyanju urged the consumers within its network not to vandalise the IE equipment in their communities because of the outage.
The general manager assured consumers that the company would ensure that they had fair consideration in the distribution of energy.
