The Executive Director of the Ondo State Football Agency, Mike Idoko, has been honoured for his contributions to football development with an Achievers award by the Abuja chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria.
According to the Chairman of SWAN, Abuja chapter, Kayode Adeniyi: “Sunshine Stars’ feat at the continent in the last two years is the landmark of foresight achiever like Idoko.”
Adeniyi stated that Sunshine Stars’ height in the annals of football in Nigeria “without mentioning the driving force behind its success, Idoko is not complete.”
The award was presented to Idoko by former Super Eagles Coach, Samson Siasia.
Other recipients of various awards were the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari; and the Kwara State Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike.
