Joseph Adeyemi has been arrested after allegedly shooting two of his colleagues while on a hunting expedition for wild swine in Ikole-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
A source, who craved anonymity, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the hunters had gone on the expedition on Thursday when the incident happened.
According to the source, one of the victims, Bayo Oyegoke, was said to have died instantly after being shot while the other, Stephen Aroso, sustained injury.
Another resident, who also spoke to NAN, said the deceased had five wives and some children whose number could not been ascertained.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the Ekiti State Police Command, Alberto Adeyemi, said the suspect had been arrested while investigation was ongoing.
Adeyemi said: “The suspect who shot at fellow hunters has been arrested and investigation is going on now.”
