Oscar winning actor and comedian, Robin Williams, is dead.
The 63-year-old veteran Hollywood actor was found dead in his home in California, United States of America, in the early hours of Monday.
Investigation conducted by police the police was that Williams was suspected to have committed suicide.
His publicist, however, claimed he had been battling with a severe depression for a while before he finally he gave up the ghost.
An investigation into the cause, manner and circumstances surrounding the death is currently underway by the investigations and Coroner Division of the Sherrif’s office.
Preliminary investigation indicates Williams was last seen with his wife at his residence at approximately 10pm on Sunday.
His lifeless body was located on Monday morning shortly before the 911 call was placed to Marin County Communications.
At this time, the Sheriff’s Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation is ongoing before a final determination is made.
A forensic test is scheduled for Tuesday (today), with subsequent toxicology to be conducted.
According to his wife, Susan Schneider: “This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of the its most beloved artistes and beautiful human beings.
“I am utterly heartbroken.
“On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief.
“As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death but on the countless moments joy and laughter he gave to millions.”
