The Actors Guild of Nigeria has reacted to the judgement on Monday by a High Court in Lagos annulling the election of November 2012, which brought Ibinabo Fiberesima into office as president.
The court pronounced Emeka Ike the president of the AGN.
In a statement made available to The Eagle on Tuesday, the AGN said: “While we shall abide by the judgement of the High Court, we shall be guided by the constitution of the Guild which stipulates that there shall be no vacuum for leadership of the Guild.
“In view of this, Ibinabo Fiberesima remains the national leader of AGN as the court did not declare Emeka Ike as the president of the guild.
“However the registered Board of Trustees has gone to the Appeal Court to challenge the judgement.
“Fiberesima urges our members, supporters and teeming fans to remain calm and peaceful as AGN remains one family.
“This judgement has not in any way affected the resolve of Ibinabo to take the body to the next level.”
It would be that Ike has been slugging it out with Fiberesima in court over the first election that brought her into office.
