The wife of the President, Hajia Aisha Buhari, on Thursday in Abuja received the rescued Chibok schoolgirl, Amina Ali, and her baby, Safiya, at the Presidential Villa.
Buhari, who expressed happiness for rescue, said it was an indication that the remaining girls would be rescued.
She said: “We are happy to have one of the missing Chibok girls and we are looking forward to receiving more girls that are still missing.
“We are getting relief.
“It is good indication that we will get the rest.”
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that Hajia Buhari donated N30 million to the parents of the missing Chibok girls in Borno State and N25 million to the parents of murdered Buni Yadi boys in Yobe State.
The donation was part-fulfillment of her promise that the proceeds from launch of her book, “Essentials of Beauty Therapy,” would be used to empower parents of the Chibok girls and the murdered Buni Yadi boys.
Buhari presented baby food and other items to Amina for the child.
Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State said the abduction of the Chibok girls was a tragedy to the North East.
Shettima said Amina and her baby were rescued by the Civilian JTF at Baale near Damboa in Borno State and handed over to the Nigerian Army.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Army for bringing peace to the North East and for efforts to rescue the missing Chibok girls.
“We remain eternally grateful to President Buhari for making it possible for our people to get back their dignity,” he said.
Dolapo Osinbajo, the wife of the Vice President, also received Amina and her baby; her mother, Binta; and her brother, Inuwa.
The Chibok schoolgirls (219) were kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists on April 14, 2014.
