Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has condoled the family of late Alhaji Wada Sinkin, who died on Saturday, after a protracted illness.
Sinkin died at age 85.
Yusuf’s condolence is contained in a statement by his Director-General, Media and Publicity, Bature Tofa in Kano, on Monday.
The Governor described the death as shocking and devastating, considering the contributions of the deceased in the socio-economic development, not only of his constituency, but the State in general.

He mourned: ”We received the news with shock, but with total submission to the will of Allah. Sinkin fought bravely for the emancipation of the common man and was a philanthropist.
”He was a successful business man of international repute, an honest and hardworking contractor, a respected elder statesman, and a philanthropist with a sympathetic heart, whose death created a wide vacuum difficult to fill.
”On behalf of the government and people of Kano state, I extend our deepest condolences to the family of late Wada Sinkin, and pray to Almighty Allah to grant his soul eternal rest and grant him the exalted Jannah.”
