Gov. Masari signs Katsina State’s N114.3b appropriation bill into law

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State on Wednesday signed the 2016 appropriation bill of N114.3 billion into law.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalled that the governor had presented N111.4 billion before the state House of Assembly for consideration.
The budget, tagged: “Budget of restoration of hope,” was increased by the House to N114.3 billion, with N43.3 billion as recurrent expenditure and N70.6 billion voted as capital vote.
Masari said the government hoped to attain 90 per cent implementation.
He said education had the lion share of 23 per cent of the budget.
Masari explained that health, agriculture, water supply and security were the other sectors that had top priorities.
He urged people of the state to continue to pray to God to guide leaders to serve them right.
The governor also urged the people to bear with the government due to the decrease in the Federation Account as it was committed to improving their living condition with the meagre resources.
Masari also said his administration had so far spent about N1 billion to fight cattle rustling.
He further explained that the joint security team had recovered more than 11,500 cows.
