The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, has named himself as the Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
This was made known on Sunday as Emmanuel made appointments into key positions in his government.
The Chief of Staff to former Governor Chief Godswill Akpabio, Etekamba Umoren, was appointed the Secretary to the State Government.
A retired Permanent Secretary, Government House, Uyo, a graduate of University of Benin and a Knight of John Wesley, Umoren is a seasoned technocrat who has attended different courses overseas.
Pastor Bassey Umoh was appointed Permanent Secretary, Governor’s Office.
Until his appointment, he was Auditor-General of Local Government.
Ekerete Udoh, the immediate past Director of Media and Publicity for the Udom/Moses Campaign Organization 2015, was appointed Senior Special Assistant (Media) and Chief Press Secretary.
Udoh who is a holder of B.A (Political Science and Journalism) degree from Queens College, City University of New York and M.A (Political Science) Special Concentrations in International Relations and Comparative Politics, Brooklyn College, City University of New York.
A former columnist with Sunday Concord, Thisday, Vanguard, Editor of Hints magazine and Publisher of The Diasporan Star, New York, Udoh has spent over 28 years in the journalism profession.
Aniekpeno Mkpanang, Permanent Secretary (Protocol) in the immediate past government, is the new Permanent Secretary, Special Services Department.
Edmond Uffang was appointed Protocol Chief.
A graduate of Yaba College of Technology, Uffang is a successful businessman and protocol consultant.
Pastor Daniel Akwatang was appointed the Special Assistant to Emmanuel on Religious Affairs.
Emmanuel wished the newly-appointed aides the very best in the discharge of their responsibilities.
