The police have confirmed the kidnapping of the Special Adviser to Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State on Political Matters, Fyneman Wilson, on Wednesday morning.
Wilson was reportedly abducted with his Personal Assistant at his residence in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Yenagoa.
Butswat said: “Five gunmen went to the residence of Hon. Wilson Fyneman at Sagbama Town, in Sagbama Local Government Area and abducted him with his Personal Assistant Mr. Fred, to an unknown destination.
“The Marine Police, JTF and the Anti-kidnapping unit have been alerted.
“Efforts have been intensified to rescue the victims and arrest the abductors.
“Investigation is ongoing.”
NAN reports that several kidnap incidents had occurred in the state in the past few weeks in the area, with three monarchs still being held by their abductors.
