A member of the Board of Trustees of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Sam Nkire, has appealed to all striking workers and all those intending to go on strike soon for whatever reason to give President Muhammadu Buhari a chance to settle down.
Chief Nkire, who spoke in Abuja at the weekend, said President Buhari was aware of the plight of the average Nigerian worker in the past 16 years of Peoples Democratic Party regime but needed a little time to address them.
The APC stalwart said it would not be wise for workers and trade unions to embark on any action capable of bringing the country to its knees just when a worker-friendly, masses-friendly president is inaugurated.
The former National Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Alliance further told Nigerians that an APC government under the leadership of President Buhari would make the welfare of the average Nigerian a top priority and would by no means toy with the productive sector of the economy.
Chief Nkire assured Nigerians that Buhari was not oblivious of what the people expect from him, adding that only competent, committed and corrupt-free ministers and workers would be accommodated in government.
