Ahead of tomorrow’s primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State to pick the candidate of the party for the July 16 governorship election, the Forum of PDP Lawmakers has stepped in to mediate among aspirants for peaceful resolution of all the crises within the party.
The Leader of the Forum, John Fashogbon said at their meeting on Sunday that they resolved to meet the aspirants today (Monday) to iron out issues and ensure that they all support and work for anyone of them that emerged as the candidate of the party after the exercise.
Six aspirants were cleared by the Mohammed Adoke-led screening committee for the Osun PDP Governorship Primary.
Adoke, a former attorney general of the federation, said all scaled the screening hurdles.
The aspirants include, Ademola Adeleke, Prince Dotun Babayemi, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, Dele Adeleke, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, and Omirin Emmanuel Olusanya.
Fashogbon said the move by the Forum became imperative to solidify the party before and after the primary and ensure victory for the candidate of the party in the July 16 governorship election.
