Former Acting Governor of Ekiti State, Hon. Tunji Odeyemi, who also doubles as a former Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, has felicitated with former Governor Segun Oni as he prepares to celebrate his 70th birthday on 5th of September, 2024
The former speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly governed the state for a period of three months as acting governor.
Odeyemi in a congratulatory message, congratulated Engineer Segun Oni for scaling through the 70 years of his life considering his life experiences, travails and political battles he had encountered in the state and the country at large.
Extolling the virtues of Engineer Oni, Odeyemi hailed him for his positive mindsets and simplicity when he was the Governor of Ekiti State.
Describing him further, Odeyemi recommended Oni’s leadership and governance styles to the present day politicians, emphasizing that Oni’s dedication to the development of Ekiti State as Governor was second to none.
Odeyemi also described Oni as a committed leader whose interests and major concern is ensuring the progress of the state is not stunted.

According to Odeyemi, he would not have become the first Acting Governor in Ekiti State if he did not lay credence to the leadership style of his former boss, in person of Asiwaju Segun Oni.
Describing his former boss further, Odeyemi recalled, and reminded the people of Ekiti State and Nigerians at large on some of the major projects executed in the three and half years administration of former Governor Oni from May 29, 2007 to October 15, 2010, to include infrastructural development of the state which mainly covers roads and electricity, education focusing on schools renovation and the welfare of the teachers, healthcare regularly seeking improvement for local health facilities across the state and agriculture helping to provide support for farmers with fertilizers, seeds and farm equipment.
Odeyemi listed other achievements to include provision of water, economic empowerment for both small, medium and large scale businesses as well as comprehensive in the civil service.
