Tokunbo Abiru on Monday resigned his appointment as Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, a statement said on Monday.
Governor Babatunde Fashola announced the commissioner’s resignation during the State Executive Council Meeting in Alausa, Ikeja, the statement signed by Hakeem Bello, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, said.
The governor said Abiru resigned to take up an appointment at First Bank Nigeria Plc as Executive Director and commended his dedication to the service of the state in his two years in the cabinet.
The governor wished Abiru well in his new appointment and expressed confidence that he would excel in the job.
In his resignation letter to the governor, Abiru expressed gratitude to Fashola for giving him the opportunity to serve the state.
Abiru said he remained committed to the progress of the state and that he would render his service to the state again if the opportunity came in the future.
