The remains of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency’s South-East 1 Zonal Coordinator, Oladipo Fagbamila, are to be buried on Friday in his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State
Fagbamila, a Deputy Director, died on December 29, 2017.
He was aged 53.
Fagbamila was recently transferred from South-West 2, FERMA, with headquarters in Lagos.
The South-West 2 Zonal Coordinator of FERMA, Rufus Onimisi, said in a message to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that a christian wake in the deceased’s honour would hold at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Restoration Court Parish on Adelabu Adelaja Street, Magodo GRA, Lagos.
He said that the funeral service would take place at the RCCG Ogun Province 1 Headquarters, Adigbe, Abeokuta, at 10am on Friday, while interment follows immediately at his residence in Adigbe.
Fagbamila, who hailed from Ekiti State, was born in 1964.
He graduated from the University of Ilorin and began his engineering career at the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing in 1991.
He joined FERMA in 2005.
The Federal Controller, Works, Lagos, Godwin Eke, described Fagbamila’s death as devastating.
Eke said that the deceased was committed and easygoing, adding that he contributed immensely to road rehabilitation nationwide.
Eke said: “He was very competent on the job when he was the South-West 2 Zonal Coordinator of FERMA, before his posting to Enugu.”
The South-West 2 Zonal Coordinator of FERMA, Rufus Onimisi, who succeeded the deceased in Lagos, said that his death was shocking.
Onimisi said: “It is shocking to all of us because he was not sick. We were at a meeting together in Abuja about two weeks ago.
“He was hardworking, jovial and accommodating.”
