The Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has congratulated Femi Adesina on his re-election as the President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors.
Fayose said Adesina’s exemplary leadership of the Guild has been compensated by the confidence reposed in him by his colleagues who gave him another term.
In a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the governor said Adesina’s re-election was not only a vote of confidence on his leadership, but an endorsement of his sterling qualities.
He said: “Mr Femi Adesina has distinguished himself as thoroughbred journalist and as a reputable editor. His running of The Sun Newspapers is commendable and the paper ranks among the best in the country.
“I am not only wishing him an eventful tenure, I also give the assurance that our government will ensure that the cordial relationship between us and the guild as well as those in the journalism profession is maintained.”
Governor Fayose, who lauded NGE’s handling of issues during the recent general elections, charged Adesina and others in the Guild to ensure that members continue to uphold the standards and ethics of their profession.
