Fayemi, a gift from God to Ekiti – Cleric

Foremost cleric and international preacher, Sheik Muyideen Ajani Bello, has urged the people of Ekiti State to support the development efforts of the Governor Kayode Fayemi Administration, adding that the governor is a gift to the people of the state.
Sheik Bello spoke in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday as Guest Lecturer at a Ramadan Lecture organised by the management of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Progress FM 100.5FM.
Commending the state governor for the developmental efforts, which he said “is very noticeable everywhere in the state”, the cleric said: “I advice you people (the Ekitis) to beware not to lose this opportunity provided by the Fayemi leadership.”
According to him: “Fayemi is an opportunity for you. I urge and appeal to you to take it. I was somewhere three days ago where we were being urged to pray for some governors who were doing their jobs well in the country. Fayemi was one of those mentioned.
“Ekiti people should see allow Fayemi to rule for eight years and thank Almighty Allah for having him as a leader who is committed to the god of his people. He has tried in all regards, especially the unique social security scheme for the elderly. It is not the governors who might be bad but those they call advisers. With what he has done, he should be allowed to rule for eight years. This is my honest and candid advice to the people of Ekiti.”
In his address, the governor, who was represented by Alhaji Suleiman Ogunlayi, the Chairman, Civil Service Commission. noted that religious tolerance and harmony has accounted for the peaceful inter-relations in the state.
He said this was aided by government in the operation of the Nigeria Inter-religious Council.
According to him, the state NIREC was one of the best in the country, urging the operators to always ensure peaceful inter-faith relations.
In attendance at the programme were the Deputy Chief of Staff, Alhaji Mojeed Jamiu; and Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Research and Strategy, Hakeem Jamiu; as well as the SSA to the Governor on Legal Matters, Barrister Ibrahim Olanrewaju.
Others were the General Manager, Radio Nigeria (Progress FM), Dare Olorunfemi; a former Deputy Governor in the Old Ondo State, Alhaji Musa Ayeni; a petroleum marketer in the state, Alhaji Sulaiman Akinbami; and Alhaji Jimoh Aliu.
