A father (names withheld) in Lagos State has beaten his son to death for stealing his N1,000.
The son, whose name was given simply as Bright, was allegedly hit on the head with a iron belt in the wee hours of May 26, 2014 by his father at their 6, Olarewaju Street, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos State residence.
The police spokesperson in Lagos State, Ngozi Braide, said the victim was rushed to Divine Private Hospital, Lawal Street, Oregun, where he was confirmed dead.
The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja for autopsy.
Braide said the case is now under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba.
In another development, the police in Lagos State has commenced investigation into the killing of a boy by a couple he has been living with.
The couple, identified as Mr. and Mrs. Paul Obiefule, reside as 22, Omitola Street, Agege, Lagos State.
They allegedly beat 12-year-old Onyedikachi Mbanozo to death.
The Pen Cinema Police Station is investigating the case.
