Elegbeleye inaugurates 2014 National Sports Festival committees

The Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, on Monday in Abuja inaugurated the various sub-committees and Project Management Teams for the 19th National Sports Festival, tagged: “Paradise Games 2014.”
The NSC top official harped on the need for the 2014 Edition of the NSF to exceed the standard set at the last edition tagged: Eko Games.
Elegbeleye said: “It is my pleasure to welcome you all to this Inauguration of the Sub-Committees and Project Management Teams for the 19th National Sports Festival (NSF) tagged: Paradise Games 2014. The Festival is scheduled for 23rd November to 7th December, 2014.
“I was informed that the 18th Edition of the Festival held in Lagos in 2012, was one of the best in terms of organization, participation, facilities, etc. As our own equivalent of the Olympics, we must continue to improve on the standard of the Games.
“This now places on us the responsibility of striving to exceed the standard set at the EKO Games.
“All the Members of the Sub-Committees, Project Management Teams and the MOC Secretariat have been individually selected, based on knowledge, expertise and experience to ensure that Paradise Games 2014 is successfully delivered.
“I therefore urge you all to deploy your wealth of experience, skills and talents in sports organization to ensure that the Festival measures up to international standards. Your inauguration today, signals the effective commencement of our own part of the activities that will ensure a successful delivery of the Festival. Chairmen of Sub Committees and Project Managers should ensure that they submit Quarterly Report on their activities to the Secretariat of the MOC to ensure that the MOC is constantly kept abreast of their activities.”
