The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dele Olugbemi, has challenge the impeached former Speaker, Dr. Adewale Omirin, to swear with a Holy Bible and before Ekiti State traditional rulers if he did not hold a meeting with him, Senator Babafemi Ojudu and others at the Presidential Lodge, Osogbo, Osun State on April 5, 2015.
Olugbemi said Omirin and others begged him to resign as the speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly for him (Omirin) to be reinstated as speaker and after he might have succeeded in impeaching Governor Ayodele Fayose for him to become the acting governor of Ekiti State, Olugbemi will assume the speaker’s office again.
He stated that Omirin, Ojudu and others have no moral justification and locus standi to deny the purported impeachment meeting because every minute there was recorded on tape.
The speaker noted that Ekiti State people are known to be patriot as demonstrated by late Colonle Adekunle Fajuyi to late Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi at the expense of his life.
Olugbemi said Omirin, Ojudu and others, acting by all means possible to impeach Fayose amounted to fraud and was unpatriotic, selfish, wicked and unholy act, which is strange to any Ekiti man.
The speaker advised Ojudu, Omirin and others to stop their ill-fated impeachment or political coup against Fayose or else he will open the paradox box without minding whose ox is gored.
Olugbemi stated that he held a meeting with Omirin, Ojudu and others at the presidential lodge in Osogbo on April 5 (5-8pm) and another April 7 in Lagos (1:30am-4am).
The speaker wondered why those who could not win through the ballot box free and fair election now resort to win via impeachment move.
He advised Omirin to thread softly on his move of becoming the state’s acting governor at all cost and should remember that the mandate he is enjoying was given to him by Ekiti State people and not Osun State or Lagos State people.
Olugbemi stated that charity begins at home and it is only a bastard that will describe his father’s house with left hand.
He warned Omirin to put an end to the unholy and unconstitutional online impeachment of Fayose.
The speaker promised his absolute loyalty and commitment to the success of Fayose’s administration.
