Weeks after he was named as the Technical Adviser of Enyimba International, former international, Austin Eguavoen, is yet to resume at his duty post.
The Eagle Online scooped three weeks after the commencement of the ongoing Nigeria Premier League season, the former Super Eagles defender is still being expected by his employers, the management of the Aba-based side.
“We are still expecting Coach Eguavoen as I speak to you. It’s only the management that can say categorically why he is yet to resume,” one of the players said.
In the absence of Eguavoen, Abdul Makaiba has been in charge of the Peoples Elephant following the departure of Okey Emordi at the end of last season.
If he eventually resumes, the former Super Eagles captain will be making a comeback having coached the team three seasons ago.
Eguavoen’ last assignment as the head Coach of the National under-23 team, Dream Team V, ended on a disastrous note as Nigeria failed to book a ticket to the football event of the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Efforts to get reaction from Enyimba Chairman Felix Anyansi Agwu proved abortive.
