Easter: YCEE, Emex E.O.T collaborate to drop ‘HELLO’

Nigerian rapper, YCEE, born Oludemilade Martins Alejo, has collaborated with a fast rising Afropop star, Emmanuel Thompson, popularly known as Emex E.O.T in a track titled “HELLO’’.
Emex E.O.T told the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Lagos through the collaboration gave him a different perspective of the Nigerian music industry.
Emex E.O.T, who invented the Wala-sound (a fusion of Afrobeat and pop), said that he had always pictured top artists to be full of themselves and wanted to continue his solo progress before he met YCEE.
He said: “I met YCEE and everything changed. When the beat was given to me by my producer, Mr Kel P, I voiced it and sent to my manager at GMG Records, Emmanuel Offei, who was pressed and suggested I did a collaboration on the track.
“My manager layer contacted YCEE who listened to it and planned that we met. Upon our meeting, YCEE said he had been looking for a sound just like the one I have and we just connected.
“He came through for the video and the audio production, he was always available and I was impressed considering his achievements. He didn’t look like other top artists who do not want anything to do with upcoming stars.
“I am indeed happy to have met him and I thank my manager for making the connection possible. We are dropping both the video and audio of ‘Hello’ today, April 20. We hope Nigerians will enjoy another good sound from Emex E.O.T.”
On why he waited till the Easter weekend to release the track, Emex E.O.T said that it was an idea of his manager to give Nigerians and the international audience a unique sound to dance to.
He said: “Easter is a significant period in the year’s calendar and as always I look forward to dishing out good vibes and great sounds to make Nigerians dance and be happy.
“I pray I get the kind of love Nigerians showed my Good Vibes single. By the way, Hello is my first work this year.”
He said that the collaboration with YCEE had again motivated him to do more great sounds and he looked forward to have more collaboration with other top artists.
