Eagles train under hot weather, bumpy pitch in Ethiopia

Members of the Super Eagles early on Saturday arrived Addis Ababa, Ethiopia ahead of Sunday’s Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifying clash against the Walya Antelopes.
A camp source told The Eagle Online that the Stephen Keshi-led team went straight into business by observing their first and final training section under scotching sun at the Addis Ababa Stadium.
The Super Eagles players and their officials were earlier received by a large Nigerian community that had gathered at the airport in Ethiopia to catch a glimpse of the boys.
The source also revealed the poor state of the pitch but allayed any fear, saying that the team is familiar with the bumpy nature of the pitch.
The source said: “We all know that we have a mountain to climb here in Ethiopia.
“So we are all prepared for it.
“All countries want to play at the World Cup and Ethiopia is no exception.
“So they want to do everything to frustrate the Eagles and have easy passage to the Mundial.
“I believe none of their antics will deter us from picking the World Cup ticket as everyone here is focussed on this goal.
“Don’t forget that we are African Champions and we shouldn’t panic about a country like Ethiopia.”
