The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted dust haze weather over the central states of the country on Tuesday.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 27 degrees Celsius to 34 degrees Celsius and 15 to 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
It predicted horizontal visibility range of three to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than 1,000 metres over Lafia and Yola axis throughout the forecast period.
The agency predicted dust haze conditions over the south inland cities with horizontal visibility range of three to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than 1,000 metres over Enugu, Asaba and Ibadan.
It also predicted early morning mist/fog with slim prospects of thunderstorm over Calabar, Eket, Warri, Calabar, Port-Harcourt, Lagos and Yenagoa in the afternoon and evening hours.
The southern cities are also expected to experience day and night temperatures in the range of 30 degrees Celsius to 33 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees Celsius.
According to NiMet, Northern states will experience sunny with hazy conditions throughout the period with day and night temperatures in the range of 27 degrees Celsius to 33 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius, respectively.
NiMet predicted: “Improved visibility is expected over the northern states as sunny and hazy condition are anticipated over the region.
“Dust haze are also expected to persist over the central cities down the inland cities with visibility range of three to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than 1,000 metres.
“However, localised thunderstorms are not unlikely over some parts of the coastal cities in the next 24 hours.”
