A heavily loaded trailer with tomatoes on Sunday fell at the Minna City Gate, leaving two persons, including the rider, seriously injured.
Eyewitness report has it that the other injured persons are motorcycle riders who were hit by the produce when the trailer, which was on high speed, tumbled.
The injured driver, whose name was given as Danjuma Mohammed, was said to be heading towards the Kure ultra modern market from Plateau State when the incident occurred at about 9:30am on Sunday.
One of the Federal Road Safety Corps officers who spoke to our Correspondent said their ambulance had taken the victims to the Minna General Hospital for medical attention.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muhammad Abubakar, said the Police is fully on ground to ensure law and orderliness, adding: “We will not allow hoodlums cart away any of these produces (tomatoes).”
Traffic was diverted and well controlled as some youths were seen scooping diesel from the tank of the vehicle to stop it from spilling more on the ground.
