Justice Olabisi Akinlade of a Lagos State High Court in Igbosere on Monday adjourned till November 16 the trial of suspected murderers of Cynthia Osokogwu for adoption of final written addresses.
The new date by the court was as a result of the late filling of the final written addresses by the third and fourth defendants’ counsel, Chris Obiaka.
However, the judge ordered that the defence counsel should file a joint written address and the prosecution should file a comprehensive written address and serve same on all.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the four accused – Okwumo Nwabufo (34), Olisaeloka Ezike (24), Orji Osita( 33 )and Ezike Nonso (25) – are charged with the murder of Osokogwu, 25, on July 22, 2012.
The defendants had met the deceased, then a post-graduate student of the Nassarawa State University, on Facebook and had invited her to Cosmilla Hotel in Festac Town, Lagos State, where she was murdered.
