An Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded one Akintunde Omotehinde, 27, in prison custody for allegedly raping his 60-year-old mother
Prosecutor, Ebenezer Ewuola, told the court that the accused committed the offence on August 23 at Ajebamidele area of Ado-Ekiti.
Ewuola claimed that the accused “forcefully and unlawfully” had carnal knowledge of his mother, which led to her being hospitalised.
He added that on the same date, the accused assaulted and inflicted injuries on one Isiaka Ojo, who attempted separating him from his mother during the sex duel.
He said the offence contravened Section 358 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor said he had sent his case file to the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
The accused’s plea was not taken.
The Magistrate, Patricia Ajibade, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending the DPP’s legal advice and adjourned the case to October 16 for mention.
