A Lagos State Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday ordered the remand of a 19-year-old man, Akinola Samuel, in prison custody for allegedly defiling a four-year-old boy.
The Chief Magistrate, Tajudeen Elias, ordered that the accused should be remanded at Kirikiri Prisons till January 13 when the bail application would be entertained.
The accused, a student, who lives at 13, Shore Close, Agege, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a three-count charge bordering on defilement.
The prosecutor, Corporal Bimbo Oluwateru, told the court that the offences were committed on December 22, 2015 at the accused residence.
Oluwateru said the accused, who resides in the same house with the victim, called him to his room, removed his boxer pant and defiled him through the anus.
“Thereafter the victim was feeling the pain, he then told his mother and the accused was apprehended,” she said.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravened Sections 134, 259 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
