An Ilorin, Kwara State Magistrates Court on Friday remanded a 51-year-old civil servant, Abdullahi Tanko, in prison for the alleged murder of a member of the National Youth Service Corps.
Tanko, alongside others still at large, is facing trial for the alleged murder of Yetunde Shukrat, a corps member.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Mathew Ologbonsaye, alleged that the accused and others, now at large, raped the victim inside a vehicle and later killed her.
The prosecutor added that they dumped her corpse at Simion Okedi, GRA, Ilorin.
Ologbonsaye said following distress call, police went to the scene of the crime and trailed the blood stains to the quarters of the accused at Plot 6, Simion Okedi Street, GRA, Ilorin.
He said Shukrat, who until her death, was serving with Radio Kwara.
She was murdered on May 23 and dumped at the said area in her pool of blood.
The prosecutor alleged that the accused and others now at large deceived the deceased and later took her to the scene of the crime.
The accused was charged with criminal conspiracy, rape and culpable homicide, offences that contravened Sections 97, 283 and 221 of the Penal Code.
Magistrate Kalejaye Yahyah refused the bail application, and ordered that the accused be remanded at Mondala Prison, Ilorin.
The magistrate adjourned the case till August 10 for further mention.
