The Federal Road Safety Corps on Thursday advised motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to consider alternative routes, especially this weekend, when there will be increased religious activities on the road.
The monthly Holy Ghost Service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God will hold at the Redemption Camp on Friday, while the Mountain of Fire and Miracles will also have its monthly programme on Saturday.
According to the spokesman of the FRSC, Bisi Kazeem, following this increase in religious activities, a proportional increase is also expected on the road, hence the need for motorists to make use of alternative routes.
Kazeem said: “In view of this, motorists could take these alternative routes:
“Traffic from Benin could link Lagos through: 1. Ijebuode-Epe -Lekki. 2: Ijebuode-Ikorodu.
“Traffic from Ibadan-Lagos could use: 1. Odo-Ona-Apata-Omi Adio-Abeokuta-Itori-Ifo-Sango Ota. 2. Sagamu-Papa Lanto-Ifo-Sango Ota. 3. Sagamu-Ofada-Mowe.
“Traffic from Lagos-Benin could use: 1. Epe or Ikorodu axis to link Ijebu-Ode.
“Traffic from Lagos-Ibadan axis could use Sango Ota-Ifo- Abeokuta-Ibadan.”
Kazeem equally revealed that ambulances, motorbikes, patrol vehicles and tow trucks are to be adequately deployed with enough personnel to control traffic.
