Children, women killed in Kaduna attack

Fresh attack in Zangang Chiefdom in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State has claimed 12 lives, including women and children.
The incident followed a rampage by gunmen on Monday night.
The Council Chairman, Kumai Badu, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria in a telephone interview.
Badu said that 12 persons had so far been confirmed dead while several others got varying degrees of injury.
According to the chairman, several houses and property were also destroyed in the attack.
He added that although calm was restored in the area by the military, the people had yet to recover from the shock of the attack.
NAN further gathered that four persons were apprehended by the military in connection with the attack.
NAN recalls that similar attack was carried out in the area in mid April, which claimed several lives and property.
