Hat trick hero, Chisom Chikatara, has been adjudged Man of the Match following his superlative display against the Menas of Niger on Monday in the ongoing Championship of African Nations 2016 in Rwanda.
The Kano Pillars striker, who replaced Tunji Adeniji in the second half against Niger, fired three goals within 16 minutes to seal victory for Nigeria.
Speaking after the award presentation, an elated Chichatara promised to continue to hit the target in their quest for glory in Rwanda.
He said: “I’m happy for this honour done me and I believe it would spur me to do more until we realise our dreams in this competition.
“We would take all matches like cup final and make sure we make Nigerians proud.”
Meanwhile, the striker was however denied the match ball by the centre referee after grabbing hat trick.
Reason for the denial was unknown as at press time.
