Super Falcons’ Chief Coach, Edwin Okon, has expressed delight over the friendly against Cameroon ahead of the five-time African Champions and Rwanda clash in the African Women Championship qualifier against Rwanda.
Okon believes that Cameroon will hopefully give the Falcons a tough test they need to face Rwanda, adding that if they beat the Cameroonians, then it means they can beat the Rwandans.
He said: “I don’t really know the Rwandans well and I don’t have their dossier or the video clips of their matches but my bosses in the office have assured me they would make it available to us.
“We are taking it one step at a time.
“What is on our mind now is the friendly as we hope to see the players in a match situation.
“The friendly match comes next week and it is the friendly that will determine if we will need the services of foreign professionals.”
Meanwhile, two players were decamped in line with the elimination by substitution method of Okon.
Glory Ogbonna of Ibom Angels and Rachael Akpojortor of Nasarawa Amazons were replaced by Lilian Tule and Anam Imoh from Taraba Queens and Amarachi Okoronkwo from Nasarawa Amazons.
The new players joined the rest of the girls for the Tuesday training.
Azizat Oshoala and Uchechi Sunday are also expected to join up in camp on Wednesday.
