The Code of Conduct Bureau on Thursday reminded public officers to fully declare their assets in order to avoid arrest and prosecution.
Okokon Essien, the Director of Education and Advocacy Services Department of the bureau, made the call in Abuja during a Sensitisation Workshop for Public Officers organised in collaboration with Discovery Cycle Professionals, an NGO.
Essien said: “The programme is organised in line with the bureau’s mandate to enforce and enlighten public officers on Code of Conduct.
“The thrust of the workshop is centred on exposing corruption through enlightenment as well as education on assets declaration mechanism.
“It is also tp sensitise participants on steps to take in filling the assets declaration form.”
Participants were drawn from the National Health Insurance Scheme, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control and National Commission for Museum and Monuments.
