Former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wammako, has said President Muhammadu Buhari needs to rule beyond 2019 to properly address the rot in the country.
Wammako, who was one the group of five governors, popularly known as G-5, that joined All Progressive Congress from the Peoples Democratic Party, made this disclosure when students of the Faculty of law of the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, paid him a courtesy call.
He explained that four years is not enough to clear rot left behind by the PDP, adding: “Four years would not be enough to resuscitate country.
“President Buhari must be allowed to rule beyond 2019 to address the numerous challenges bedevilling the country.
“At all, four years cannot be enough to address the rot that are done to the country 30 years.
“We cannot expect miracle from the President in view of the enormous damage done to the country.
“He needs to be given opportunity to be around beyond 2019.”
According to Wamakko, President Buhari has been working hard in the five months of his administration to put the country on the right track of development.
He said: “With the conclusion of ministerial nominees screening, the administration would in no time shift to more actions on the development of the country.
“The fact that we are able to sack the former weak and ineffective administration, we have started the journey to prosperity in the country.”
