Senator Ademola Adeleke has emerged the winner of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship primary.
A former Minister of Transport, Chief Abiye Sekibo, announced this during an interview on Politics Today, an interview programme on Channels Television Tuesday evening, monitored by The Eagle Online.
Senator Abiye confirmed that Senator Adeleke won the primaries with over 1,000 votes to defeat the first and second runners-up, who he said polled four votes and one vote respectively.
The faction of the PDP in which Senator Adeleke won held its primary at the Osogbo Township Stadium, while the one loyal to Prince Dotun Babayemi conducted its primary at WOCDIF event centre along Ring Road, Osogbo.
When asked, Senator Abiye denied he was not aware that any factional primary held anywhere apart from the one he attended.
