New PDP merges with APC

At last, the aggrieved seven Governors and other members of the New Peoples Democratic Party have pitched tents with the All Progressives Congress.
The leadership of the new PDP entered into a meeting with the leadership of the APC on Tuesday morning and by 11.45am, the meeting, which started by 9.30am, ended with an announcement that the nPDP has merged with the APC.
On the new PDP’s team to the meeting were Abubakar Kawu Baraje; Governors Rabiu Kwakwanso of Kano State, Muritala Nyako of Adamawa State, Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, Babangioda Aliyu of Niger State and Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State; Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Sam Sam Jaja; former Kwara State Governor, Bukola Saraki; former Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Adamu; and former Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva.
The APC team was led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; and the National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande.
Others present were former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Masari; and former governor of Abia State, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu.
With this development, the APC now has 18 governors as against PDP’s 16 governors.
