A fresh attack has again been launched on Zegeyo resettlement area of Okpatta town in Doma Local Government Area of Nasrawa State, leaving over 200 persons displaced.
Eyewitnesses told The Eagle Online that that attack was allegedly carried out by some Fulani men on Friday afternoon.
He said the attackers started the trouble with their youths while working on their farms and when the youths ran home, the Fulanis appeared to have retreated but on went back to reinforce and then attack the settlement, shooting sporadically.
According to one of the community leaders, Francis Ikyor Gbande, who has been communicating with The Eagle Online correspondent, one woman was left with several gunshot wounds.
The attack is coming at a time the community is just trying to resettle from the 2014 violent attack on them by the Fulani and Alogo in the state.
According to Gbande, several others, including his elder brother, Ioryoosu Gbande, Koriyol Anagol, Doowuese Umende, Abiola Ioryoosu and Atim Kpakena sustained varying degrees of injuries.
He said the police had already visited the scene and have conveyed some of the injured to a nearby primary health care centre for medical attention.
The Eagle Online reports that this is the second time the community has suffered violent attack since Tanko Al-Makura became governor of the state.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Nasrawa State Police Command, DSP Ismaila Numan, promised to get in touch with the Okpatta Divisional Police Officer and confirm in due course.
