Boko Haram bombs Gombe police station

Suspected Boko Haram members on Tuesday attacked and bombed the Divisional Police Headquarters in Nafada Local Government Area of Gombe State.
Reports revealed that the attack was carried out around midday.
The yet-to-be-identified gunmen were said to have stormed Nafada and started shooting sporadically.
After gaining some grounds within the town, the gunmen then proceeded to the Divisional Police Headquarters, which they bombed.
An eyewitness told The Eagle Online that thousands of people in the town have fled into the bush.
Source said the assailants were in their numbers when they attacked the police station.
Policemen on duty were said to have fled before the assailants arrived at the station.
No arrest was made during the attack.
Though no life was lost in the attack, the police station was burnt as a result of the impact of the explosives used in bombing it.
When The Eagle Online tried to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Fwaje Atajiri, for comment, his line was switched off.
It would recall that on Friday, the Gombe Line Motor Park in Gombe metropolis was also attacked by suicide bombers.
