Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has condoled with his Adamawa Counterpart, Ahmadu Fintiri, over the death of his father, Alhaji Umaru Badami.
A statement released on Thursday in Lokoja by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Onogwu Muhammed, quoted Bello as saying that he was extremely saddened by the news of the death of Badami.
He commiserated with the family, government and people of Adamawa over the incident.
Bello described the octogenarian as “a devoted statesman, devout Muslim and disciplinarian who dedicated his life to the service of God and humanity.
He said: “Alhaji Umaru Badami was also a strong voice for his community.”
The governor prayed God to forgive the shortcomings of the departed and accept his soul to Aljanna and comfort those he left behind.
