The partner of the Nigeria Football Federation in the development of beach soccer in the country, Sports Solutions Limited, stated at the weekend that all is set for the second edition of the Central Bank of Nigeria Beach Soccer Cup competition, which has been slated for September 6-8 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
“We have commenced serious preparations for the competition, which is one of the events designed to truly ginger nationwide interest in beach soccer and generate awareness ahead of the launch of beach soccer league in the country,” Taye Olajide, Head of Events of Sports Solutions, stated.
Already, the company has now completed the construction of a new Beach Soccer Pitch in Accra Street, Zone 5, Wuse, Abuja as part of development of structures for the unveiling of beach soccer league in the country.
It has now been revealed that the newly-constructed Beach Soccer Pitch in Wuse will host this year’s CBN Beach Soccer Cup competition, which will involve eight beach soccer teams in the country.
Olajide added: “Sports Solutions Limited is delighted with the encouragement and support it continues to enjoy from the Nigeria Football Federation towards the launching of beach soccer league in the country.
“Now, we can disclose that beach soccer teams from Kogi, Nasarawa, Anambra and Abia States, as well as teams representing Sterling Bank, Aso Savings and Loans and defending champions Fidelity Bank will take part in the second edition of CBN Beach Soccer Cup competition.”
