Barcelona deployed in full their MSN arsenal of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar Jnr to destroy Villarreal at Camp Nou to regain the summit of La Liga, from arch rivals, Real Madrid.
Contrary to expectations, Villarreal failed to offer resistance to the attacking Barcelona trio, as they thrashed the visitors 4-1.
Neymar scored first in the 21st minute and 11 minutes after, Cedric Bakambu equalised for Villareal.
But just before half time, Lionel Messi struck, giving the hosts a 2-1 lead.
In the second half, Luis Suarez crowned a Barcelona counter attack with a goal, in the 69th minute.
And 13 minutes, Jaume Costa handled the ball in the Villarreal box to gift Lionel Messi a penalty and his second goal of the day.
It was a game that Barcelona deserved to win as they dominated the match 69-31 per cent.
The defending La Liga champions, gunning for a back-to-back trophy now have 84 points, three points more than Madrid, who still have two games at hand.
Madrid will play Granada later tonight.
A victory will shoot them back to the top of the table.
