Bank robbery won’t occur again in Lagos – CP

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, has vowed that bank robbery will never occur under his watch again.
Aderanti made this declaration while parading some kidnappers and gunrunners at the Command’s Headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos State.
The declaration came days after robbers attacked First City Monument Bank on Admiralty Way, Lekki, killing three policemen and a fish seller.
The bank robbers, said to be over 12 men, reached the Island, through waterways, in canoes.
They were dressed in military camouflage uniforms.
This was the first day bank robbers would be carrying out daring their act under Aderanti’s watch as CP.
Addressing journalists, Aderanti said the police were working tirelessly to hunt down the bandits who killed the three cops and the fish seller.
His words: “We’re working assiduously to ensure that the perpetrators of the Lekki robbery attack are brought to justice.
“The type of weapon used by these robbers showed that they were well prepared.
“It requires diligent investigation to fish them out.
“We do not want to state the stage we are now in our investigations.
“I however promise that such attack will not happen again in this state.”
