A CRICKET umpire killed a teenage spectator in Bangladesh by hitting him on the head with a bat in a dispute over a contested decision. After being in detention for 13 years, a Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere will today pronounce a verdict in the case the state brought against a former Chief Security Officer to late General Sani abacha, Major Al-Mustapha and others, for allegedly killing Kudirat Abiola, wife of late business and winner of the June 12, 1993 annulled presidential election. Ethnic tension is on the rise in Kogi State over who should succeed the former Governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, whose tenure the Supreme Court on Friday declared over since May 29, 2011.
